After several years of experimentation, Bassenget emerged from a desire to create a purely photographic project. Here, the transmutation of materials and the hybridization of media are set aside in favour of a simple, pared-down approach to creation. Three panoramic photographs were taken — three shots of the same banal landscape, each slightly different than the other.

Indiscernible, the landscapes of Bassenget are indecipherable, obscure and mysterious. Juxtaposed, these three landscapes converse and merge into each other, creating a new composite landscape. Bassenget strives to blur the formal characteristics of the photographic image in order to allow a more personalized interpretation, perhaps even a reinterpretation of the concept of landscape.
